HOUSING: RULES INVADING EMPLOYEES PRIVACY

Among many reasons not to join Etihad, there is Housing. Housing like anything else is driven by the most discriminative rules!

You can’t live as a couple, you are under constant surveillance of underpaid army of dumb and frustrated slaves called security guards…

Privacy does not exist when you work for Etihad. As your employer and sponsor, Etihad has the right to control your whereabout at all times!!
Security staff are being pressured to constantly challenge occupants and this create a hateful climate of suspicion among inhabitants...

We are lucky enough to have a nice decent flat. you're crazy. where else can you live where everything is provided? if you're not happy then move out. thats just the rule. every company has its rules.

what are these???! a hate blog?!!! if you're an employee of etihad, then do not stay! leave! whatelse are u doing inside the company? If you dont like it, then leave. Such a hater. I am an employee and yes I am a cabin crew with Etihad, but geez can u hear yourself? We are lucky to have a job and if you dont like your job then just leave. I may not like a lot of their rules/policies but its just enough and respect that. All companies have their own rules. if you dont like them then leave.dont be such a hater, you're just adding up more sins in your system. Iam happy where I am now and that Iam part of their success. Whatever they have promised you that you didnt get, there's gotta be a reason behind it,and if u just dont like it,theyre not stopping you from resigning. And no, Iam not from the management. Iam speaking for myself that Im lucky because a lot of people dreamt to be our shoes. You should always know how to be thankful.

hey bab, this is your case because you don t know what a real DECENT LIFE IS!,and if you used to share a room with 10 others or+ than your situation now is not a disaster!

hey it's true what this blog says... even more so! No human rights exsist in this company what so ever !
It's all just a glamourous shell or surface but underneath it's all pure shit . Because yes, they might have good advertisers & marketers, but the people below those in position are from developing countries who doesn't know what's right or wrong! They take in their ghetto/street life rules and apply on the employees... Well, cabin crew are not only from developing countries, we are western as well! Hell, if ur gonna work in this company be prepared to always to be treated like shit, from cabin managers, performance managers and HR!

This is so true, yes. Etihad make NO profit at all so are not successful, they live off money from the government, from the OIL. And the worlds leading airline?? They obviously got this award through some financial deal. Etihad have superb marketing to lure the guests in, but when they actually fly with us, they see how shit it is. An 'inspired service' that takes so long in economy we needed more crew, but Etihad took 1 crew member away ! If you are crew, then every other dept treats you like shit, yet you are the face of the company and the reason our guests come back!! It really is a hell hole to be and the only crew who will stay will be those from asian destinations.

They blocked this blog in the UAE!!!
They don't realize that they cannot stop the truth to be revealed!!!
By the way the blog is still visible in the UAE!!!
All their attempt will remain useless!!

Haha ok I may be bitter but the facts stand.. clearly there are a lot of people who are buying into whatever the company says. Its not "oh if you don't like it leave". Rules change and have changed.. work rules have changed, quality of life has changed. If housing wasn't provided no one would come here! You can totally tell the new hires from the ones who have been in the "trenches" a bit. Ra Ra yea you made it through the interview and got the job.... big deal get a life... talk to us in 6 months 1 year... lol

Its true that its like boarding school with trying to get people staying over.. having said that my building (won't say the name- because i dont want to jinx it) has been pretty good... my fiance lived at hojo's and could manage to stay here for weeks.. now she has managed to move into my building and we living a normal life- as close as possible anyway in this infantile country- Grown Adults --being treated like 2yr olds with there personal relationships and who they can see...
Here is a funny irony.. if a MALE comes over to visit my flat he can stay the night but a girl cannot!!!!!!... SO lets think about that a minute.. if you are GAY then its ok to stay over with your boyfriend or to do a bit of 'dishdash poking' with a dirty married local... BUT IF YOU ARE IN A CONCENTUAL HETROSEXUAL RELATIONSHIP- OR HEAVEN FORBID----MARRIED!!!!!!!!! -Well this is not allowed you have to leave at curfew time..
I REALLY wish someone could give me the 'MUSLIM LOGIC' on that one.....SUCH complete idiots!!!!

Please give me a break with this 'if you dont like it leave"......
People have the RIGHT to voice there discontent, and lets face it - the company will SACK you and then you are out of the country in 30days if you so much as squeek in the wrong way.....
And there is SOOOOOOO much that is wrong with what Etihad does and the way it treats its crew..
We have no union to stick up for our RIGHTS...
This blog is the closest we have toa voice just to be able and vent our frustration and our concerns...
Etihad produces so much ""SPIN"" on how good they are and how well crew are treated...what- they really think people will believe it all??? modern business manipulation of events so that EY always is the 'good guys' and squeeky clean....

How late is the curfew?

The Truth about Etihad Airways said...

forget the curfew mate ; security guards are watching you the whole day throughout ; you won't make a move in or out of your place without them noticing... Enjoy!!! It's the funky funny Emirates lifestyle... Guess what, it only applies to you but not to corporate executives... or high earning emiratis who got the money to invite dozens of whores into their places without even being bothered!

Thats just a ridiculous post. Etihad is a global company, and yes, of course you cant please everybody, thats just normal and its not what they are aiming for. Just resign from your current position, there are thousands of young talented people waiting for your job. You are poison for the company and for your fellow colleagues. Etihad pays very well, benefits are just amazing, housing is lovely and development and trainings are there for all of us! Get a life ! Cheers

For the guy who is unable to have his fiancee stayed overnight.Simple answer...go and get married.Get the document and throw at their face. The rule for a lady to be in a man house is..1)legally married,2)it is your mum 3)it is your sibling.
But be prepared to show documents.

the blog is soo true.. I've been an etihad employee for 5 years and all I see is corruption.. My manager is a former scuba diver.. damn why is she qualified to do airline operations.. Etihad only choose british, australians, south africans to be managers..

this airline has grown up so fast that the filtering process is tragically weak...criminals have join the airline...criminals that HR know the existence but don't do anything...that's life, that happens everywhere and especially in the biggest companies and more in the UAE with citizens who are abused by some (but not all of them) powerful and clever expats that abuse of the innocence of some people... cases of heart attacks after criminal harassments that have never been revealed and kept secret...with more serious consequences...things noone in the world could imagine...it's a young country that is developping...there will be people who will pay in a incredibly tragic way for a too fast development...personal ambitions will always win...and some people will pay the bill for that...barbary has been seen there but never been revealed...mafia exists but takes time to be revealed...IF ONLY YOU KNEW...IF ONLY YOU KNEW!!!!

Wow, you really should get a life if creating blogs like this is the only thing you do. Well, probably you are already fired and back home so you have some time ;-) Bitter people with your attitude should work alone behind closed door. Maybe you are so frustrated because no one liked you and you couldn't find friends? No wonder, nobody likes heaters. Cheers

Seriously you don't know what you're talking about? Have you ever heard about qatar airways?????? Well i suggest you'll work there for couple of months and i promise you your standards will get considerably changed.

Whats this rubbish about comparing etihad to qatar.. Its like comparing pol pot to nazi germany... So qatar is worse than etihad....and somehow that makes etihad ok..?
Lets just say they ate both shockingly bad when it comes to the rights of the lowly cabin crew

For all those who criticise the rules of the gulf airlines, do you think multinational corporations in the west (Coca Cola, McDonald's, Unilever, IBM, etc) don't treat its employees as shit? Unless you are top management, they treat you like disposable trash, and they make it clear to you that you are a servant of no value (even if you know foreign languages and have a college degree) And the situation gets worse when they establish themselves in developing countries. At least, gulf airlines are safe, pay well and give you the chance to see the world. I'm considering applying for a position as cabin crew there.

Etihad Airways International Flights Booking- Etihad Airlines was founded by the Royal (Amiri) Decree in 2003. In a short time period, it has gone on to become the fastest growing airline in commercial aviation. This carrier wants to bring the Arabian royal feel to their services. Cultured, considerate, warm and generous are a few of the numerous terms used to explain its staff.
